As you probably know, Common Ground Books is so much more than a bookstore. Established in 2022, CGB is not just the sole queer bookstore in North Florida, but also the only queer bookstore between Central Florida and Atlanta.

Common Ground Books is specialized in LGBT+, feminist, and banned books for all ages. We also host titles from local authors, and art from local artists. Beyond what we sell, we also pride (pun intended) ourselves on being a hub for the local LGBT+ community. Florida has become a hostile state for LGBT+ individuals in the last few years, and we are doing what we can to help people feel seen and provide a safe space to be themselves with art and skill-building workshops, free events such as movie nights, open mic nights, and monthly clothing swaps.

We are also the home to the Common Ground Gender Affirming Closet- a donation based resource for gender exploration and gender expression where any member of the LGBT+ community can come get clothing, accessories, make-up, or hygiene products, etc. for free!

By becoming a CGB Member, we are requesting your help to not only sustain our business and to make it thrive in the years to come!

There are a number of different membership levels and you can opt out at any time. But don't worry, we would never request your help without offering you something in return.

Membership Levels and Perks

Contributing Member: $3/month. Contributing Members will receive a CGB sticker, and exclusive discounts and perks throughout the year, including waived entry fee for our book clubs (not including the cost of the book).

Supporting Member: $10/mo. Great for sticker enthusiasts! Supporting Members will receive all the perks of Contributing Member + you will be sent an exclusive sticker of the month. This sticker will not be available in our store and will only be available to members.

Sustaining Member: $20/mo. For the pin collector! Sustaining Members will receive all the perks of Contributing Member + you will be sent an exclusive enamel pin of the month. This enamel pin will not be available in our store and will only be available to members.

Persevering Member: $45/mo. For the book lover! Persevering Members will receive all the perks of Contributing Member + you will receive one new release book every month! You can choose from the category of literary fiction, non-fiction, romance/romcom, sci-fi/thriller/horror, or graphic novels.

Defending Member: $75/mo. Our highest membership level. Defending Members will receive all the perks of all the other membership levels including receiving a sticker, enamel pin, and book monthly, entry into any of our book clubs, and membership exclusive perks and discounts. As a special thank you for Defending Members we will also send you a bonus book specially curated to your tastes, for every six months of continual membership.

Membership fees will be charged on the first of the month, or on the date of purchase, and will default to the first for months thereafter. Stickers, pins, and books will be mailed out by the end of that month. The title of the books for Persevering and Defending members will be available at the beginning of each month via email, if they choose to know the title. Shipping costs included in membership cost.

Memberships are a great way to support our store even if you are not located in Tallahassee.
