Phlebotomy is the incision of vein for the removal of blood. Usually done with an evacuated needle, syringe, or other container for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. At Necole’s Learning Academy you will learn the skills necessary to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. Phlebotomy is when someone uses a needle to take blood from a vein, usually in your arm also called a blood draw or venipuncture, it's an important tool for diagnosing many medical conditions.
