Celebrate Trans Day of Visibility with a screening of the legendary documentary Paris Is Burning. This 1990 film offers an intimate look at New York Cityβs ballroom scene in 1980βs New York City; A space built by Black and Latinx queer and trans communities. Through fierce performances and deeply personal interviews, the film explores themes of identity, chosen family, survival, and self-expression. Weβll follow the lives of ball participantsβincluding trans women like Venus Xtravaganzaβwho found refuge and power in this underground world.
