Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM GMT

Join us for a unique 2-part event exploring folklore, landscape and treading the fine-line between the world we know and the shifting world of the eerie and folk horror.

The evening will begin at dusk with Roads to Withered Hill, an immersive walk based on David Barnett's recent book Withered Hill. This will be followed by an author talk discussing his new novel Scuttler's Cove with Elizabeth Garner.

Withered Hill is as real as the pavement beneath your feet, and the trees in the distance. It lingers in the tales told by old women, in folk traditions and long forgotten rituals. It is as real as you and I, and we’re inviting you to walk there.

Roads to Withered Hill is an audio-led immersive experience that introduces you to the landscape and mythology of the novel. The immersive walk is c.20-30 mins, will be introduced by David and its creator Tom Abba and will start and end at the bookshop, where you can then join us for a glass of something nice and a broader discussion.
