This day-long training offers you a gentle introduction to the practical, ethical and process considerations therapists should know working outdoors.
This training is for qualified counsellors or those currently in their second year of Level 4 training (or placement year). It will provide you with βthe basicsβ and prepare your to work ethically outdoors with clients. This will include managing risk, contracting and assessment. There will be plenty of time to ask questions. We will also begin thinking about the theoretical differences between indoor and outdoor therapy, and how we might move between the two.
We will spend the day in and around The Quiet View, a garden and yurt overlooking the woodland and rolling hills of Kingston, nr Canterbury. The space evolved as a place for people to come, to be still, to reflect. We will spend part of the day inside the yurt, exploring the theory and practicalities, then moving outdoors either into the garden and/or across the fields, footpaths and to the nearby woodland where you will have the opportunity to practice conducting sessions outdoors with one another. Weβll end back in the yurt for tea, cake and reflection.
Please note that you will need to bring your own lunch
