We tell stories to add meaning to our complex and sometimes indescribable experiences by laying them out and organizing them into a beginning, middle, and end. Telling stories connects us to our history and those of others, while making space for us to imagine a future.
Join us for a 4-week workshop series that invites storytelling and connection with others on the recovery journey. We will listen to othersβ stories of recovery as windows into understanding and sharing our own stories. Each week, we will read a blog post from the Yoga for Eating Disorders Blog, discuss what resonates with our individual experiences, and write and share prompted reflective pieces about our own stories within a supportive and nurturing environment.
This virtual workshop is for anyone who is curious about storytelling and who wants to explore the practices of deep listening and writing as tools for healing. All engaged in related work or interested in this topic are welcome. No prior writing experience is required, but a willingness to explore and share is recommended. By the end of the series, you will have at least 4 pieces of writing that reflects aspects of your recovery journey.
This special class series, led by Yoga for Eating Disorders teacher Niya Bajaj will meet on Zoom on Tuesdays April 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST. Due to the highly interactive nature of these classes, the series will only be offered live. Recordings will not be available.
